Zoe Saldana Wants To Make One Last STAR TREK Movie
Zoe Saldana has been great in the role of Nyota Uhura in the three Star Trek films that she’s appeared in, and she wants to return for one last ride on the U.S.S. Enterprise. As you know, producer J.J. Abrams and Paramount Pictures has been trying to get a fourth Star Trek film off the ground for years, but for some reason, they can’t quite get their shit together.
During a recent interview with CB, Saldana was asked about Star Trek 4, and she said:
"I know. I mean I heard what you heard in the trades. I just heard that they're gearing up to do a a new one with a younger sort of, take on it. Like it's been off. I don't know if it's if it's from the before or the after, but that they really still hope to grab all of us veterans and bring us back for one last round. Listen, I know it's a lot to wrangle a whole bunch of people with busy schedules. But, working with J.J. Abrams, and for J.J. Abrams at Bad Robot was always just a wonderful and beautiful experience for me. So, if I get to do that one last time, I would be so grateful."
That’s nice to hear, hopefully, Abrams can actually get Star Trek 4 off the ground. The Star Trek project that Saldana brings up in her comment is the one that’s being directed by Andor’s Todd Haynes and written by Seth Grahame-Smith (Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter).
The movie is said to be “an origin story that takes place decades before the 2009 Star Trek film that rebooted the franchise.” This movie is in addition to the fourth Star Trek movie that Abrams is still trying to get off the ground.
