Zoey Deutch, Jon Hamm, and John Slattery to Star in R-Rated Hollywood Comedy From WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER Director

If you've been looking for a comedy that throws a satirical Molotov cocktail at the glitz and ego of Hollywood, director David Wain has something wild in the works.

The Wet Hot American Summer and Role Models director is back with a new R-rated ensemble comedy, which is currently going by the placeholder Untitled Celebrity Pass Movie, and the film stars Zoey Deutch as a Midwestern bride-to-be named Gail Daughtry, whose relationship spirals after her fiancé actually cashes in on their mutual celebrity hall pass agreement.

Instead of curling up with a pint of ice cream, Gail takes off on an unhinged journey through modern-day Hollywood in a quest to settle the score. Think vengeance with a touch of red carpet chaos.

Joining Deutch on this Hollywood odyssey are Jon Hamm and John Slattery, reuniting once again in what we hope includes some Mad Men-level chemistry filtered through absolute absurdity.

Also along for the ride are Sabrina Impacciatore, Ben Wang, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, and Ken Marino, the latter of whom co-wrote the script with Wain.

The duo is no stranger to crafting ridiculous brilliance together, their previous collaborations include Wanderlust, Childrens Hospital, The State, and of course, Role Models. This time, their chaotic playground is the entertainment industry, and it will all be filmed on location in Los Angeles.

Producer Anthony Bregman shared in a statement: “I have been excited about working with David for 25 years since I read what I thought was the funniest script of all time, ‘Wet Hot American Summer.’ Now, years later, I am happy to now be working with him and Ken on the only script that’s ever made me laugh harder.”

Crystine Zhang, producing for Oval-5, added: “I couldn’t be more excited to bring this wildly fun story to life with such a brilliant team. Working with David Wain, Ken Marino and attaching this phenomenal cast — including Zoey Deutch, Jon Hamm and John Slattery — has been a dream come true. I can’t wait for audiences to join us for this super wacky comedy with lots of heart.”

If the creative team’s track record is any hint, this film is likely to be a hilarious and unhinged ride.
