ZOMBIELAND Script Pages Shared For Alternate Joe Pesci Cameo Scene
The creative team behind Zombieland imagined several different cameos for the film before getting Bill Murray on board. We previously learned that Patrick Swayze, Sylvester Stallone, and Mark Hamill were all wanted during certain points throughout the development. Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick shared the script pages that they wrote for these cameos, which you can read here.
The writers have now revealed that Joe Pesci was offered a big cameo role in the movie! When explaining why the cameo didn’t happen, the writers explained that it was “a small part” and Joe Pesci’s agent told them, “There are no small parts, only small money.” So, I guess this small part also came with small money.
It would have been a ton of fun to see Pecsi in the film. As you might imagine, Woody Harrelson’s Tallahassee is a huge fan of Pesci, and called him the “Scariest. Motherfucker. Ever.” Now, enjoy reading the script pages for Pesci’s scene and let us know what you think!
