THE FOURTH KIND final poster got abducted by blurry images

Do you remember that awful poster for Takers that came out last month? Well, this isn't nearly as bad(thank goodness,) but I have a theory on why it has the look it does.

I'll first say that I agree with WAMG. The final poster Universal has released for their "based on true cases" film The Fourth Kind, is a photoshop job gone wrong.

It hurts the eyes. Not just because of how badly the images are put together, but the image literally hurts my eyes. I'm guessing it's because of the blurry streaks they put in to the grainy images. I think they may be trying to hammer home that there is a lo-fi aspect to the film.

Why would they do this???

Maybe after the success of Paranormal Activity -- the micro-budgeted hit shot with a single camera -- they wanted to steer away from the polished look the other posters have. Well, sorry Fourth Kind. With your Novermber 6th release date rapidly approaching, I doubt you'll swing a viral campaign as successful as "Paranormal's."

That said, the film looks like it will be indeed be scary. Alien's coming into your room and having their way with you? That's enough to make me afraid of "white owls" looking at me in my bedroom window. The Fourth Kind was written and directed by Olatunde Osunsanmi, and stars Milla Jovovich.

Check out the new poster, an old one below, and let us know what you think!
