It's Confirmed! Zombieland Screenwriters will Take on DEADPOOL!

The Deadpool film spin-off is on its way to becoming a reality with the official hiring of two screenwriters that I’m sure you will all be pleased with. Back in December we reported on a rumor that Zombieland screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick would be the two guys to tackle the script for Deadpool.

Well, I’m happy to announce that this is no longer a rumor because it has been made official! I love the idea of these two screenwriters taking on the Deadpool material. I think they have what it takes to build a great action film around such a violent and funny antihero. If you’ve seen Zombieland then you know how witty these two writers can be, and I’m looking forward to seeing what they have planned for this awesome Marvel character.

As you know Ryan Reynolds is extremely excited to reprise his role as Deadpool, and he has been very vocal about letting the fans know that he is going to make sure this movie is done right. According to Variety the screenwriters are on board with Reynolds and they will stay true to the mythology of Deadpool -- unlike X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

There is no word on when the film will go into production but I assume that when Reynolds is done filming The Green Lantern he will jump on board the Deadpool production. This movie has great potential!

So now that it’s official what do you think of the ZOMBIELAND screenwriters taking on DEADPOOL?
