ALIEN Prequel Gets Delayed another 12 Months!

It looks like Ridley Scott's new Alien prequel has run into some more problems. While Scott has been prepping up to direct two new Alien prequels, he hit a delay due to the high budget and rating issues.  Shortly after that news hit, FX supervisor Henry South confirmed on his twitter that production design had started, which got everyone excited that the film project was moving forward.

Now its being reported by the folks over at scriptflags that Fox Studio has pushed the release date of the film 12 months all the way back to 2013, and the film's sequel to 2014. No reason was given on why the film got pushed back. Fox seemed to be really excited about Damon Lindelof's script, so I don't know why they don't want to jump into production.

The word is that Noomi Rapace and Olivia Wilde are the two front runners for the lead role in the film. Both actresses met with Ridley Scott and Fox before the first delay hit. Filming has no official start date, but when it does start filming the plan is to shoot them back-to-back.
