Zac Efron's DIE IN A GUNFIGHT Gets a Director

Movie Zac Efron by Joey Paur

Anthony Mandler has been hired to direct Zac Efron in the upcoming film Die In A Gunfight for Media Rights Capital. The script for the film was written by recent NYU graduates Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari.

Efron will play a fight-prone and death-obsessed young society man who pursues a romance with the daughter of his father's enemy. This is a very different role for Efron, it's much darker than what we are used to seeing him in. He's obviously trying to show off some new and different talent. In all honesty I'm not sure if he's got it, He wasn't really all that good in the drama Me and Orson Welles. I don't see him in a gritty tough guy role like this, but we'll see how it goes. After all, he is growing a beard.

As for the director, Mandler is a music video, commercial director and photographer. He is also set to direct Vlad for Summit Entertainment, which I'm more excited about seeing.
