First photo of Sacha Baron Cohen from THE DICTATOR

Here is our first look at Sacha Baron Cohen from the set of The Dictator, directed by Larry Charles. The film will also star Ben Kingsley, Jason Mantzoukas, and Anna Faris and tells “the heroic story of a dictator who risked his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed. It is inspired by the best selling novel, Zabibah and The King, by Saddam Hussein.”

When we reported about Faris's casting we also were able to have an update on the plot:

"Baron Cohen plays a ruthless dictator who heads to the U.S. for a meeting at the United Nations and finds that his number two has replaced him with an unsuspecting sheepherder lookalike. As the dictator wanders the city, he meets the owner of an organic food store."

Alec BergJeff Schaffer and David Mandel wrote the script for the film. As usual with any of Baron Cohen's films there will be plenty of ad libbing. It will be interesting to see him play two roles, but I am sure it will come off pretty cool. Baron Cohen and  Kingsley will be seen next in Martin Scorsese’s Hugo CabretThe Dictator is set for release on May 11, 2012.
