Dev Patel in Talks to Join Neill Blomkamp's CHAPPIE

Slumdog Millionaire star Dev Patel might have finally landed another great film project. The actor really hasn't done any movie worth watching since Slumdog. According to THR, he's now in talks to join  Neill Blomkamp's sci-fi comedy Chappie, which is based on his short film "Tetra Vaal." All we know about the film's story is that it will center on a "ridiculous robot character."

The movie also stars Sharlto Copley, and according to the report, he is playing a police robot working the shanty towns.  If Patel ends up being cast in the film he will play the film’s human lead, "a young man in the impoverished town."

I'm excited to see what exactly Blomkamp has planned for this next movie. All I know is that he's proved himself to be a great filmmaker, and his short film, "Tetra Vaal," is fantastic. It's great that he'll be expending the world he created.
