Donald Glover is Reportedly Lucasfilm's First Choice to Play Young Lando Calrissian
Not long ago it was reported that Lucasfilm was looking to cast an actor to play a young version of Lando Calrissian in the Han Solo film currently being developed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller. Thanks to Birth.Movies.Death. we now know who the studio's number one choice is. Apparently, they really want Donald Glover (Community, The Martian) to take on the role.
There are no details on if Lucasfilm has offered him the role, or even if the actor has met with the studio or directors yet. If this news is true, though, I hope that Glover takes it. This would be an insanely cool role for him to take on! I'm a big fan of Glover and I'd love to see him play Lando! There's no doubt in my mind that he would be able to awesomely pull off the character and make it his own. If you've been following his work, then you know he can be funny, serious, and smooth.
If he's eventually cast, he will star alongside Alden Ehrenreich, who was recently cast in the title role. I think Ehrenreich is a great actor as well, and I'm excited to see how his take on Han Solo turns out.
What do you think about Glover possibly taking on the role of Lando Calrissian? Do you think he's right for the part? If not, who do you think should play the character?
