George Miller Reveals Title of The MAD MAX: FURY ROAD Sequel
It's been a long time since I've seen a film that has received the amount of praise as Mad Max: Fury Road from both critics and normal audiences, and the social media buzz for the film seems to be off the charts. It's no surprise, considering 70-year-old director George Miller was somehow able to film most of the stunts practically and set a new bar for action filmmaking in the process.
Back in 2010, Miller was planning on filming Fury Road and then immediately moving into production on another sequel called Mad Max: Furiosa. Well, check out the director's first tweet (he just joined Twitter yesterday):
So plans are in place for more Mad Max films, but the next title won't be Mad Max: Furiosa. Miller appeared on The Q&A Podcast (via The Playlist) and revealed that name of the next sequel is going to be Mad Mad: The Wasteland. What could that mean? Is the Wasteland the area that the women wanted to ride across on motorcycles in Fury Road? Is it a catch-all name for the world itself in a post-apocalyptic state? Or something else entirely? I'd love to hear your guesses.
We know that Tom Hardy will be back since he's signed on for three more movies, but there's no word yet on whether Charlize Theron will return to reprise her role as Furiosa. I really hope she does, because she was one of the best parts of Fury Road. What do you think?
