James Gunn Says GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2 Will Be More Emotional

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is easily one of my most anticipated movies coming from the Marvel cinematic universe. Director James Gunn has already shared a few details on what he is planning, such as the fact that the sequel is going to have a much smaller scale story, fewer characters, and be more intimate.

Talking to Collider about the the film, he added that it will be much more emotional, saying:

"Well I think I've said so much already... I think it's a more emotional movie. It's both a bigger movie and a smaller movie because we focus more intensely on some of the characters. We learn a lot about fathers in the second movie and I think we focus a lot on that."

The first Guardians of the Galaxy was already filled lots of heavy emotion, especially in regards to Peter Quill and his mom. I guess with the inclusion of his dad, and going deeper into who these characters are, emotions are bound to be taken to the next level.

It was also recently rumored that Magus could play a major role in the MCU when Avengers: Infinity Wars rolls around. When Gunn was asked if he would be introduced in the Guardians sequel, he said with a grin,

"You'll have to wait and see the movie to see who's introduced.”

It would totally make sense to see Adam Warlock's evil alter-ego introduced in the movie, but like Gunn said, we’ll just have to wait and see.
