James Gunn Says The Guardians of the Galaxy "Would Beat The S**t Out of The Avengers Easily," What Do You Think!?
If the Guardians of the Galaxy were to find themselves fighting against The Avengers, who would win!? That’s the question at hand! James Gunn recently weighed in on this in a recent interview with Michael Rosenbaum on the Inside of You podcast, and he has no doubt in his mind that the Guardians would win. This is what Gunn said:
"Listen, I always thought that the Guardians would beat the s**t out of the Avengers easily. Like, it's just they're from outer space. They have technology that is pretty advanced, so it would be hard to beat them."
While we’ll never really see these two teams properly fight, Gunn does make some good points. The tech they are wielding is definitely far beyond anything that Tony Stark has come up with, but Stark’s Iron Man tech would definitely deliver some damage!
Then there’s the whole thing where The Avengers has a Hulk. The Hulk is a force to be reconned with, and that alone might give The Avengers an advantage. But they also have a God, with Thor! The Guardians have a Groot, and Groot is also pretty powerful. But, I think Hulk has the advantage over Groot. Rocket and Groot together, is always a great team-up that can inflict lots of damage.
On the Guardians team, you’ve also got Gamora, Nebula, Drax, Cosmo, and Kraglin. The rest of The Avengers team consists of Captain America, Spider-Man, Black Widow, and Hawkeye. I don’t know, that’s a pretty strong lineup. As much as I love the Guardians, I honestly think that The Avengers have the advantage, especially with the inclusion of Thor and Hulk.
Gunn also talked about what his favorite Marvel movie is, saying: "My favorite MCU movie is Iron Man. I think it's an incredibly great movie. But my favorite Marvel movie is probably Deadpool. Well, actually, no, my favorite Marvel movie is [Spider-Man] Into the Spider-Verse." So, I guess that would be his top three.
