Kevin Costner Could Join Jessica Chastain in Aaron Sorkin's Directorial Debut MOLLY'S GAME

I'm a big Jessica Chastain fan, and one of her upcoming films I'm looking forward to the most is her collaboration with famed writer Aaron Sorkin. The writer is making his directorial debut with Molly's Game, a film based on the stranger-than-fiction true story of Molly Bloom (Chastain), a former Olympic hopeful who went from being a Los Angeles cocktail waitress to running secret, high stakes poker games for some of Hollywood's most elite A-list actors (including Ben Affleck, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Tobey Maguire). Idris Elba is also attached and Michael Cera joined the cast recently, but now Deadline reports that an actor with a bit more gravitas than Cera is in talks to come on board: Kevin Costner.

Costner is being eyed to play the father of Chastain's character, though the site cautions the deal isn't complete yet. I don't think Costner has been involved with a Sorkin project in his career yet, so I'd much rather to see him play around with some of that rapid-fire dialogue instead of trying to follow in Liam Neeson's footsteps as an aging action star.
