Kevin Feige Confirms Roster Change in AVENGERS 3
We've previously heard rumors that there is going to be a major change in the roster of Avengers superheroes when we finally get to The Avengers 3. That report stated that Captain America, Thor, Hulk, and Black Widow may not be involved, and that other characters such as Ant-Man, Doctor Strange, Ms. Marvel, and/or others could step in.
In a recent interview with BuzzFeed, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has confirmed that the Avengers line-up is definitely set for some changes. He explained,
"The Avengers films, ideally, in the grand plan are always big, giant linchpins. It’s like as it was in publishing, when each of the characters would go on their own adventures and then occasionally team up for a big, 12-issue mega-event. Then they would go back into their own comics, and be changed from whatever that event was.
"I envision the same thing occurring after this movie, because the roster is altered by the finale of this film."
The "this film" he is referring to is Avengers: Age of Ultron. As you saw in the trailer, things get incredibly intense between the Avengers team, and that is going to carry on into the Civil War storyline that we will see in Captain America 3. By the end of that movie, the Avengers team we all know and love in the Marvel cinematic universe will be unrecognizable in terms of being a team.
By the end of Captain America 3, who knows which Avengers will be around to pick up the mantle for Avengers 3. Marvel knows, but they aren't saying. That's ok, though. In time all will be revealed, and this stuff always makes for good conversation and speculation.
