Neil Casey Cast as Villain in Paul Feig's GHOSTBUSTERS
Paul Feig's female-driven Ghostbusters film continues to add cast members. Following yesterday's big additions, today Deadline reports that Feig has added Neil Casey as the film's villain, a mysterious character named Rowan. Unfortunately, those are nearly all of the details that have been made available at this time.
Casey is a writer known for his work on Saturday Night Live, where he's worked with three of the four leads of this film: Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones. (It seems like Feig is using that show as a breeding ground for talent, since yesterday he brought Cecily Strong into the fold as well.) Casey has also written for Inside Amy Schumer and Kroll Show, and he's done a bunch of acting work as well, so you may recognize him from appearances on Amy Schumer, Broad City, The League, Veep, and Feig's Yahoo TV series Other Space (ah, there's the big connection).
Ghostbusters (are they going to give this thing a subtitle, or confusingly keep it the same name as the original?) is currently filming in Boston and opens in theaters on July 22nd, 2016.
