Photos of Kurt Russell's GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 Costume and New Villain Taserface
Last night at Comic-Con's Marvel Studios panel, it was confirmed that Kurt Russell would indeed be playing Peter Quill's father in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, but as an unexpected character: Ego the Living Planet. You can read about how it's possible for a planet to father a child in Joey's write-up, but now you can check out some video and photos of Russell's costume in the movie, courtesy of Agent M:
Also during the panel, some Ravagers came out in full costume and we got a good look at the new villain Taserface, played by actor Chris Sullivan. He took to Twitter to share a couple of new pictures of himself in full makeup:
In the comics, Taserface is a member of an alien race that mastered some technology that Tony Stark discarded into space, but it's unclear how much of that backstory will remain the same in the movie; as you know, Marvel Studios likes to use characters and comic plots as jumping off points and aren't beholden to slavishly recreating them on the big screen.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will arrive in theaters on May 5, 2017, and from the sound of it, the movie won Hall H yesterday. Impressive!
