Rumored Details on WONDER WOMAN's Movie Timeline
Last year, we reported a rumor that the first Wonder Woman solo film would be set in the 1920s. That same report also said that the second Wonder Woman film would be set during World War II, and that the third one would be set in modern day. That may have been one of several options at one point, but it sounds like some things have changed.
Heroic Hollywood is reporting that "the first half of Wonder Woman standalone film will actually take place during World War I. Again, World War I not II. The second half of the film takes place during modern day."
This is only a rumor at the moment, but with all of the reports regarding the early 20th Century timeline, I'm sure we'll end up seeing some kind of period setting in the movie.
Wonder Woman is scheduled to start principal photography in London this coming November with Patty Jenkins at the helm. I'm really curious about how they are going to handle this character. All we really know about this big screen incarnation of the character is what we've seen in the trailer that was released for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
We'll start to learn more concrete details as the release date of the solo film draws closer. It's set to be released on June 23, 2017.
