SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Leaked Call Sheet Confirms a Villain and Teases MCU Connection
ComicBookMovie reports that a leaked call sheet from Spider-Man: Homecoming has hit the internet, and if it's legit (it came from Reddit...so take it with a grain of salt), it confirms one of the movie's many rumored villains and also teases a small but cool connection that ties the film into the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe.
As you can see, Fargo star Bokeem Woodbine is supposedly playing a character named Shultz, who is likely Herman Schultz, aka Shocker. Angourie Rice (who was solid in The Nice Guys) seems to be playing Betty Brant (the Daily Bugle secretary originally played by Elizabeth Banks in Sam Raimi's movies), and it looks like Martin Starr, Hannibal Buress, and Selenis Leyva (who plays Gloria on Orange is the New Black) are all playing school faculty members. You'll also notice "Z" (Zendaya) is listed as playing "Michelle," but as we learned yesterday, that's probably a cover for her real identity.
But the MCU tease is a really subtle one. Kenneth Choi, who appeared in Captain America: The First Avenger as Howling Commando member Jim Morita, is now playing Principal Morita, which we have to assume means that he's playing his Cap character's descendant (probably his grandson, but maybe his son, depending on if they decide to age him up in this film). That's pretty cool...assuming, of course, that this turns out to be real.
Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters on July 7, 2017.
