Spider-Man Joins The Avengers in Exuberant "Spidey Reunited" Art
A little over a year ago, we wrote about a piece of art from artist Mauricio Abril that featured Spider-Man not being allowed to play with The Avengers. The image ended up going viral and even reached the halls of Sony Pictures, where it was reportedly sent around on an e-mail thread between some of the studio's top executives.
Now Abril is back with a new piece called "Spidey Reunited," which features the triumphant return of the web-slinger to his Avenger friends. There are so many great details in this piece, from the two businessmen making the deal in the background (one wearing Mickey Mouse ears) to Tony Stark creating a sand sculpture of Ultron to the sheer joy on the kids' faces at the sight of their friend coming back into the fold. Whether the character is eventually played by Asa Butterfield or not, I hope the movies are able to incorporate some of this sense of magic of seeing these characters hang out together. Thanks to Mauricio himself for sending this in!
