THE FLASH: The DC Extended Universe Has Found Its Iris West
A couple of weeks ago, word came out that The Flash director Rick Famuyima had narrowed down his casting choices for leading lady and love interest Iris West to three options. Dope actress Kiersey Clemons was at the top of his list, and now it's official: Variety reports that Clemons will play "the tough-as-nails journalist" and friend/eventual love interest of Ezra Miller's Barry Allen.
Clemons appeared recently in Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, and she's snagged one of the lead roles in the Flatliners remake for MGM. I haven't personally seen her in anything other than Dope, and since I don't know what writer Seth Grahame-Smith's take on Iris is going to be in this movie, it's tough for me to say if she's the best candidate for the role, so we'll just have to wait and see how it goes. (It's based on a treatment by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, though, so that's promising.)
Ezra Miller, of course, made a big splash in the Justice League footage that came out at Comic-Con this past weekend. Watch that here if you haven't seen it yet. The Flash speeds into theaters on March 16, 2018.
