Andy Serkis Just Let a Big AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Casting Secret Slip with Ms. Marvel
It looks like Andy Serkis may have just joined the ranks of Marvel’s most accidental spoiler-droppers. During a casual interview, the actor and director appeared to reveal that Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, will show up in Avengers: Doomsday.
The exchange happened while Serkis and Iman Vellani were chatting about their upcoming animated film Animal Farm. What started as a routine interview quickly turned into a blink-and-you-miss-it reveal.
"I'm excited for [The Hunt for] Gollum!" Vellani said during the conversation.
Serkis responded with something that instantly raised eyebrows: "I'm excited to see you in Doomsday."
That’s when things got awkward, and Vellani immediately reacted with: "No, you can't say that!"
And just like that, the internet had its next Marvel mystery.
Vellani’s name wasn’t included in the massive five-and-a-half-hour casting rollout Marvel dropped back in March 2025, which makes this moment stand out even more. If Serkis didn’t misspeak, this would be the first real hint that Ms. Marvel is part of the film.
Since debuting in Ms. Marvel on Disney+ in 2022, Kamala Khan has only popped up once in live-action, in The Marvels. She’s stayed active in animation too, appearing in episodes of Marvel Zombies, but fans have been waiting to see where she fits into the bigger MCU picture. Doomsday could be that next step.
If she is in the movie, she’ll be sharing the screen with a massive lineup of a ton of returning and new MCU players. Names already tied to the project include Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Pedro Pascal, Paul Rudd, Letitia Wright, Florence Pugh, Simu Liu, Lewis Pullman, Vanessa Kirby, and Joseph Quinn.
It really wouldn’t be that surprising to see Ms. Marvel added to the mix given her growing importance in the MCU as a mutant.
Before any of that unfolds, though, Serkis and Vellani are teaming up for Animal Farm. The animated film leans into a more comedic tone while still pulling from the original story’s themes.
Vellani voices piglets Puff and Tammy, while Serkis takes on Mr. Jones and Old Major. The voice cast also includes Gaten Matarazzo, Kieran Culkin, Glenn Close, and Woody Harrelson.
As for Doomsday, whether Serkis genuinely slipped or just got a little too comfortable in conversation, Marvel fans are now watching closely for confirmation.
Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters on December 18, and if Kamala Khan really is part of the story, it could signal a bigger role for her in the MCU moving forward.
