AQUAMAN 2 Moves Forward with Screenwriter David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick

Shortly after it was announced that WB and DC were developing an Aquaman horror spinoff film called The Trench, we learned that they are now moving forward with a sequel to the film.

The studio has hired screenwriter David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick to write the script for Aquaman 2. He is a frequent collaborator with James Wan, and he also co-wrote the first Aquaman movie with Will Beall. Wan is producing Aquaman 2, but there’s no word yet on if he will direct or not. Jason Momoa and several of the other cast members are sure to return.

While I liked what Wan did with the first Aquaman movie, I’d personally like to see Wan move on and direct another original film concept. It’s said that he’s likely to return to the director’s chair, though.

It’ll be interesting to see where they take the story next now that Aquaman is ruling over Atlantis. Are there any comic book storylines that you’d like to see explored?
