AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Promo Art Reveals First Look at Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom

New promotional art for Avengers: Doomsday has surfaced, and it gives fans something they've been waiting for. We finally have our first official look at Robert Downey Jr. as the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Doctor Doom.

Promo art has often been the first place Marvel fans catch a glimpse of what’s coming next, and this latest reveal continues that trend. The artwork was spotted at the Walt Disney Studios Marketing Expo in Shanghai, showcasing Doom in full armor.

This new design appears to be an original piece. It takes cues from the classic comic book look but introduces unique details to set it apart. The gauntlets, chainmail, and belt feel distinctively MCU while still recognizable to longtime comic readers.

Interestingly, fans might remember that a promo image of Spider-Man, once dismissed as placeholder art, turned out to be spot on for his suit in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Som this is most likel our first preview of Downey’s Victor Von Doom.

The armor also incorporates some intriguing mystical elements. Magic-inspired symbols decorate the pauldrons and midsection, while Doom’s mask has sharper detailing that makes him look both regal and menacing.

The overall vibe lines up with what many expected the Russo Brothers might pull from Jonathan Hickman’s Avengers and New Avengers runs, which they’ve previously teased.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters on December 18, 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on December 17, 2027.
