Awesome Trailer For TRON: ARES Sees The Grid Crossover Into The Real World

Disney has unleashed the full trailer for the highly-anticipated film Tron: Ares following its big debut at CinemaCon!

As a huge fan of the first two Tron movies, I was hoping that this next chapter in the franchise would deliver something just as awesome, and after seeing the footage I’ve seen, it’s hard not to be excited! This looks like it could be a spectacular visually stunning movie!

I love the visual elements of the world of The Grid crossing over into the real world! That aspect of the story is going to make things incredibly interesting.

Director Joachim Rønning said: "With Nine Inch Nails making the music, this instalment will be a little grittier, a little bit more industrial. It’s been important for me to contrast The Grid and the real world. In that sense, Nine Inch Nails lends itself perfectly into this new Tron world that we are creating."

He added "What I always look for in any story is a strong emotional core. This film will probably be more emotional than people are expecting. It’s about the cost of being human."

The film follows a highly sophisticated Program, Ares, “who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with A.I. beings.”

The film stars Jared Leto, Cameron Monaghan (Star Wars Jedi), Evan Peters (WandaVision), Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith (Without Remorse), Greta Lee, Hasan Minhaj, Arturo Castro, and Gillian Anderson.

Jeff Bridges is also returning to the world of Tron, which is awesome! It’ll be interesting to see how his character will factor into the story.

Rønning previously talked about the movie saying: "I’m excited to be part of the TRON franchise and bring this new film to fans around the world.

“TRON: Ares builds upon the legacy of cutting-edge design, technology and storytelling. Now more than ever, it feels like the right time to return to the Grid."

Jesse Wigutow and Jack Thorne wrote the script. The film arrives in theaters on October 10, 2025.
