BARBARIAN Director Zach Cregger Reportedly To Direct New CLUE Movie
Barbarian director Zach Cregger is reportedly in talks to direct the new feature film adaptation of Clue for Sony’s TriStar Pictures label.
It’s also reported that Shay Hatten (Rebel Moon, John Wick: Chapter 3 and John Wick: Chapter 4) will write the script.
There have been other directors and actors attached to this project in the past including Gore Verbinski (The Ring), who worked on it several years ago. The most recent version was being developed by Jason Bateman (Ozark) with Ryan Reynolds set to star.
If Cregger actually ends up directing the film, it will be an interesting choice. He seems like a hardcore horror guy, but he also knows how to make his films fun and playful. I’m sure he’d make a great Clue movie.
In Clue, “Six guests are anonymously invited to a strange mansion for dinner, but after their host is killed, they must cooperate with the staff to identify the murderer as the bodies pile up.”
Cregger has already shot is next film, Weapons, which is set to be released on January 16, 2026. That movie stars Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, Brian Tyree Henry, Tom Burke, Austin Abrams, Alden Ehrenreich, Benedict Wong and June Diane Raphael.
What do you think about Cregger possibly taking on the directing duties of this new Clue movie?
