BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD Movie Reportedly To Be Scripted By GLADIATOR Writer John Logan
One of the big movies being developed by James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Studios is another take on Batman with Batman: The Brave and the Bold. The Flash director Andy Muschietti is set to direct the film and it will give us a whole new vision of Batman and several other Batman universe characters.
The project is inspired by Grant Morrison's popular Batman comics run, and it will focus on Bruce Wayne's relationship with his biological son, Damian Wayne. Batman: The Brave and the Bold is said to be one of James Gunn and Peter Safran’s favorite projects.
We’ve now learned that they have turned to a top-tier three-time Oscar-nominated writer to develop the screenplay for the movie. It’s being reported by the moderators on r/DCEULeaks that, "Three-time Oscar nominee John Logan (Gladiator, The Aviator, Hugo, Skyfall) is in talks to write The Brave and the Bold for DC Studios."
Logan is also behind projects such as The Last Samurai, Spectre, Alien: Covenant, Penny Dreadful, and more. He seems like a great choice to write a Batman movie! He has such a wide range of different projects that consist of different genres and it seems like he could actually pump out an awesome script for The Brave and the Bold.
When previously talking about this project, Gunn said: “So this is the introduction of the DCU Batman, Bruce Wayne, and also introducing our favorite Robin, Damian Wayne, who is a little son of a bitch, assassin murderer, who he unwittingly takes on, who's Batman's actual son that he doesn't know exists for the first eight to 10 years of his life, and he brings into his life and this is a story. It's a very strange sort of father son story about the two of them. And it's based on Grant Morrison's run on the Batman. There's a couple of comic book writers that have been exceptionally influential on our stuff and Grant Morrison and Tom King are probably the two primary ones.”
One thing that fans are really interested in seeing is who will end up being cast as Batman in the movie. While we wait for more updates, what are you thoughts on the possibility of John Logan writing the script for the movie?
