BREAKING BAD Creator Vince Gilligan May Have Revealed The Plot of the Film Years Ago
Last week we learned that AMC was going to produced a Breaking Bad film that will continue the story of Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) after the events of the series finale after Walt helped him escape the neo-Nazis that were forcing him to cook meth.
It was revealed that the story of the film “will follow his escape from Albuquerque following the bloody events of the series finale.” As it turns out, creator Vince Gilligan has been thinking about this story for some time now. The Wrap pointed out that he revealed the storyline for the film about five years ago in an interview with GQ. At the time, he explained:
“My personal feeling is that he got away. But the most likely thing, as negative as this sounds, is that they’re going to find this kid’s fingerprints all over this lab and they’re going to find him within a day or a week or a month. And he’s still going to be on the hook for the murder of two federal agents.”
He went on to say that while that is “the most likely outcome”, He still says that he hope Jesse got away and got to Alaska, “changed his name, and had a new life. You want that for the kid. He deserves it.”
He sure does, but obviously, that’s not what the future for Jesse holds. It’s kind of sad that Jesse wasn’t able to completely escape the nightmare that he found himself in in Breaking Bad. But, hopefully by the end of the movie, he’ll find that freedom that he was trying to escape to.
Of course, Gillian could have just been tossing some ideas around about Jesse’s fate at the time, but it sounds like some of those ideas will make it into the story of the film.
We aren’t sure what other characters will end up appearing in the movie, but Bryan Cranston said that if Walter White has a place in the story, he’ll gladly return to reprise his role.
