Brian Tyree Henry To Join The Cast of John Krasinski’s A QUIET PLACE 2
Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta, Child’s Play) is in negotiations to join A Quiet Place 2. He will join the previously cast John Krasinski, who is also directing, Emily Blunt, Cillian Murphy, Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe.
While we don’t have any details on the plot for the sequel, Krasinski previously explained that this next chapter “doesn’t feel like a sequel”. He says that it’s more like a ”second book in a series of books”.
He also explained that one of the things he’s most excited about is offering a whole new perspective on this world that has been created with fresh new characters:
"The idea for it is pretty simple. I’m writing now—I don’t have it fleshed out—but the thought that occurred to me, that really excited me about it, was that most sequels are about the return of a hero or a villain. You take this character that people loved once and you bring them back, and you have to create a new world around them. We have the exact opposite setup. We have the world, and you can drop whoever you want into that world and everyone feels connected to it. The reason I decided to go back, in the end, was this world is so rich, and it’s so much fun to explore. There are so many different things to see now. Everyone else in the world is experiencing this, so I’m curious to see what that looks like from another perspective."
Henry is a great actor who has also appeared in projects such as If Beale Street Could Talk, Widows, White Boy Rick, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. There’s no information on who he’ll be playing in the film, but I imagine he will be from one of the other groups who are surviving in this world of monstrous silence.
A Quiet Place 2 will hit theaters in 2020.
