Bruce Campbell Talks About More EVIL DEAD Sequels - "You Bet Your Bottom Dollar We’re Going to Do a Few More"

The Evil Dead franchise has been so much fun to watch over the years! This is such a great horror series and the last movie that was made, Evil Dead Rise, was a huge hit! Before the Lee Cronin-directed movie was released, Bruce Campbell said the plan was to release a new Evil Dead movie every two to three years. Sam Raimi even developed a Bible for the franchise for future filmmakers to use who want to play in the Evil Dead sandbox.

With the plan and tools in place, the gap between Evil Dead movies will get a lot smaller. Campbell, original star and franchise producer, once again confirms there will be more Evil Dead movies, and they will be released more regularly.

There were 20 years between Army of Darkness and Fede Alvarez’s Evil Dead, and then there was a 10-year gap until Evil Dead Rise came out earlier this year. In between that, we got the Ash vs. Evil Dead series. During a recent interview with Collider, Campbell reiterated what he previously said, saying:

“We’re going to do them probably more like every two to three years now, rather than every 10 years. But, hey, we’ve seen with Star Wars — you don’t want to wear people out. Keep them guessing! We never wore out our welcome with Evil Dead because we never choked them.”

The actor went on to praise Cronin for his work on Evil Dead Rise, which was the most successful film in the franchise, saying:

”We were very happy with what Lee Cronin did. He did a great job, to the point where he’s going to be hard to employ again because everybody wants to use him now. So we’ll see if we get him back or not! It’s made the most money of any Evil Dead movie so far at $140 million. So, yeah, you bet your bottom dollar we’re going to do a few more.”

Cronin has said in the past that he would return to the franchise and he even already pitched an awesome idea for a sequel, which he described as “John Wick Evil Dead.” he explained, saying:

"For me, actually what it was driven by is the idea that the force can't really be destroyed. So, even though there's someone adjacent to all the madness that has happened, that force can prevail and can kind of continue onwards. So, that's one pathway. There's also, there's a second storyline, a hundred years in the past that's shared in this. And that's also a storyline I've had boiling for what goes on behind that vinyl. You could go back in time. Then I've got one Priest versus a hundred Deadites. 'John Wick Evil Dead.'"

I really hope that we get to see Cronin make that Evil Dead movie! I’m just excited for the future of the franchise and what the future films will deliver the fans.
