Brutal Final Trailer For EVIL DEAD RISE Offers Up Some Insane New Footage
Warner Bros. has dropped a final trailer for director Lee Cronin’s Evil Dead Rise, and it serves up brutal, intense, and bloody new footage that is sure to get fans pumped up for this next chapter of the Evil Dead franchise, and this is 100% set in the same world as the other Evil Dead projects. The trailer also includes quotes from reviews that have praised the movie.
The director recently explained: “There’s direct connectivity between what happens in this story and the others. They’re in the same world – this is not a parallel universe in any way. It’s happening after Fede’s movie, and after Sam’s, but in a world where those stories have taken place.”
He also talked about this version of The Book of the Dead in this film, saying: “The book that’s in this story is connected back to the past. If we look at Army of Darkness, and at the fact that there’s three books: Sam used one, Fede used one, and I said, ‘Y’know what, give me the third one, and let me go tell an Evil Dead story in that context.’”
In this new chapter, “a road-weary Beth pays an overdue visit to her older sister Ellie, who is raising three kids on her own in a cramped L.A apartment. The sisters’ reunion is cut short by the discovery of a mysterious book deep in the bowels of Ellie’s building, giving rise to flesh-possessing demons, and thrusting Beth into a primal battle for survival as she is faced with the most nightmarish version of motherhood imaginable.”
The movie stars Alyssa Sutherland (Vikings) and Lily Sullivan (Picnic At Hanging Rock).Gabrielle Echols (Reminiscence), Morgan Davies (The End), and Nell Fisher (Splendid Isolation). Evil Dead Rise is slated to hit theaters on April 21, 2023.
