Charlie Cox Fires Up DAREDEVIL Fans at NYCC With “Save Daredevil” Campaign Shoutout After BORN AGAIN Cancellation
Charlie Cox knows the Daredevil fans aren't going to let their favorite Man Without Fear disappear without a fight. During a panel at New York Comic Con, the actor sparked another “Save Daredevil” campaign following the news that Disney+ is ending Daredevil: Born Again after its third season.
The moment came when the panel moderator brought up the show's upcoming conclusion, prompting Cox to jokingly act like he was hearing the news for the first time.
“Wait, what?” he asked, as the crowd immediately erupted in boos. it was crazy hearing just how loudly fans reacted to the cancellation. They clearly aren't happy about losing the show again, and they made sure everyone on that stage knew it.
Cox followed up with a comment that got a much more enthusiastic response from the audience, saying: “All I’ll the say is, I imagine the ‘Save Daredevil‘ campaign will be gearing up for round two. Listen, we don’t want to invite the wrath of the ‘Save Daredevil‘ people.”
Naturally, the crowd erupted in cheers when he mentioned the campaign. It was such a fun moment during the panel, and you gotta love that kind of fan energy! Cox clearly knows how passionate these fans are, and he seemed to be having a great time playing along with them.
For those who remember, the original Save Daredevil campaign launched back in 2018 after Netflix canceled Daredevil following its third season.
Fans spent years fighting to bring the character and his supporting cast back, and their persistence eventually paid off when Marvel revived the series on Disney+ as Daredevil: Born Again in 2025.
Now, history appears ready to repeat itself. Disney+ confirmed last month that Daredevil: Born Again will conclude with Season 3, which has already wrapped production and is scheduled to premiere in 2027.
It's disappointing news, especially considering how much fans fought to get Cox back as Matt Murdock in the first place. After finally getting the character back in his own series, nobody seems particularly excited about saying goodbye again.
At least Marvel is bringing some familiar faces together before the series ends. Vincent D’Onofrio returns as Wilson Fisk, alongside Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, and Wilson Bethel as Bullseye.
Season 3 will also feature a major Defenders reunion, with Krysten Ritter returning as Jessica Jones, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, and Finn Jones as Danny Rand, a.k.a. Iron Fist.
Getting those characters back together is going to be awesome, particularly for longtime fans of Marvel's Netflix shows. It's something audiences have wanted to see for years, although it's unfortunate that the reunion is happening during what is currently planned as the show's final season.
Of course, Cox mentioning the Save Daredevil campaign doesn't mean Marvel or Disney+ will reverse the cancellation. He was clearly having some fun with the crowd, but it's also nice to see him acknowledge the fans who have supported the character through all these years.
Judging by the reaction at NYCC, there's still plenty of fight left in the Daredevil fanbase. Those boos were loud, but the cheers for another potential campaign were even louder.
It'll be interesting to see whether fans can pull off another miracle and convince Marvel to give Matt Murdock another shot.
Would you like to see Daredevil: Born Again continue beyond Season 3, or are you happy with Marvel wrapping up the story in 2027?
