Chris Evans Just Confirmed Steve Rogers Is Coming Back for AVENGERS: SECRET WARS
The Marvel rumor mill has been working overtime lately with talk surrounding Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, but now things just got a lot more interesting.
This time, the update didn’t come from a leaker or insider. It came straight from Chris Evans, and it sounds like Steve Rogers isn’t done with the MCU just yet.
According to audio shared on Instagram by @comicconmomsi, Evans dropped a comment that feels like a major hint about what’s ahead for Captain America.
He said, “I can’t give secrets, I can’t. What can I give you, though? I can tell you that…I start work on the next one in a couple of months, I can tell you that.”
If he’s gearing up for another Marvel shoot, it strongly suggests that Steve Rogers survives whatever goes down in Doomsday and plays a role in Secret Wars.
Marvel fans already got a first glimpse of Rogers in the Doomsday teaser. The footage shows him riding a motorcycle down a quiet road toward a small home. We also see him holding a baby that appears to be his.
There are plenty of ways Marvel could bring Steve back without undoing everything. One of the strongest possibilities is that he returns as Nomad, a version of the character that operates outside the traditional Captain America identity.
Another option that is being floated around is something more unexpected, like a Hydra variant, which would flip the character into something much darker.
There’s also an interesting production detail tied to this reveal. If Evans is starting soon, it means Secret Wars could begin filming before Doomsday even finishes post-production. Marvel obviously doesn’t want to lose momentum.
It’s be interesting to see how Steve Rogers’ story arc plays out of the course of these next two Avengers films.
