Chris Hemsworth in Talks to Star in Paramount's TRANSFORMERS/G.I. JOE Crossover Movie
Chris Hemsworth (Thor, Furiosa) is in talks to star in Paramount Pictures’ Transformers/G.I. Joe crossover movie.
All I can say to Hemsworth is, don’t do it! Run as far away from this project as possible because it’s going to end up being another crap G.I. Joe and Transformers movie! He should go make another Extraction movie instead!
For some reason, the executive and creative teams at the studio have no clue how to properly handle these film franchises, so they are just throwing shit at the wall and hoping something sticks.
Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura has already admitted that they don’t really have any kind of plan in place. When asked what we can expect to see the movie, he said: "The honest truth is I don't know. I know we are going to deliver on the promise we made."
He also previously shared: "We don’t plan that far ahead. We react to what the audience is reacting to, so in a way we can please them, but also in a way it makes it feel fresh. We expect there’s going to be some allegiance and they’re going to go on some kind of mission together."
The producer also teased the closest thing they have for a plan, saying: "Like every other Transformers movie, the ingredients of the movie is humans and robots get together to stop the villain. The Joes are going to be part of the ingredients now.”
He added: “We're not going into the Joe world, they're coming into our world. So, if you think about it that way, I think that's the closest thing to the plan that we have. We now have to figure out the plot we want to do, et cetera, but they will be an active participant, if you would, a few of the characters, in trying to stop the bad guy."
They just need to scrap everything they’ve already done and start fresh. I’m not a fan of how Paramount and Hasbro have been handling these film. They could be so much better than what they’ve been delivering, but they just don’t know how to properly tell stories with these amazing characters.
Mark Vahradian, Michael Bay, Tom DeSanto and Don Murphy are producing. Steven Spielberg and Hasbro Entertainment are Executive Producers.
