Chris Pine Is Confident That DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: HONOR AMOUNG THIEVES Will Get a Sequel

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves star Chris Pine is feeling confident about the chances of the fantasy adventure film getting a sequel. During a recent interview with GamesRadar+, the actor was asked about the possibility of a sequel and he was very optimistic about returning to the franchise:

"I've heard some rumors about it, but I don't know anything yet. But I feel pretty confident that it may happen."

When we asked if he'd be happy to return, Pine responded: "Absolutely." Pine had a great time making the first film and he previously explained why he loves the franchise so much, saying:

“I’ve seen this film probably more than I’ve seen many of my other films because I love watching it with an audience. To come out and see audience’s faces, you see exactly what cinema should do, which is people are, like, alive. They want to talk about it. They’re in a great mood. The world is so shitty so why not use this vehicle — big budget cinema — to make people feel better.”

Writers and directors Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley pulled off something really cool with this movie and delivered something that audiences enjoyed. Pine also talked about how he wanted to give something genuine to audiences:

“There’s like a bit of the swashbuckler to this guy in this world, which I love. I’m an ‘80s baby. So all of my references were ‘80s. So this movie to me was like ‘Goonies,’ ‘NeverEnding Story,’ it was a bit of ‘Indiana Jones.’ Fast forward, and maybe it’s a bit of ‘Pirates.’ All kind of mashed together with his big heart. That really more than anything is what I loved about it. I felt like it was just really honest, it was sweet. And I think sweet has gotten a bad rap. Everything’s got to be really cool nowadays, and I’m really over cool. I think cool is super boring. I want something that’s genuine.”

I would love to see a sequel to Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves; it would be fun to see these characters embark on another epic adventure.

I know Paramount Pictures was looking to build a huge D&D franchise because there’s so much potential, and so many different stories tell that are set in the world of D&D. But, the first film was a huge box office hit. It did well, but not as well as the studio hopped. Only time will tell if the studio will actually tell more of these stories on the big screen. Paramount CEO Brian Robbins has talked about a possible sequel and he said, "We've got to figure out a way to make it for less.”

In the first film, “A charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers undertake an epic heist to retrieve a lost relic, but things go dangerously awry when they run afoul of the wrong people. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves brings the rich world and playful spirit of the legendary roleplaying game to the big screen in a hilarious and action-packed adventure.”
