Dafne Keen "Hopes" to Return as X-23 for AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY
Dafne Keen, who made an awesome impression as X-23 in Logan, jumped back into the Marvel spotlight thanks to her appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine. But when it comes to her future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, things are still up in the air, or at least that’s what she’s claiming for now.
While attending Fan Expo Canada, Keen was asked about a possible return in the highly anticipated Avengers: Doomsday, and she played it coy. Her response? "I actually have no idea. I hope so."
No denial. No confirmation. Just enough to get Marvel fans to hope that she is able to reprise her role as well.
After her breakout role in Logan, many thought that would be the last we’d see of Laura, a.k.a. X-23. But Deadpool & Wolverine brought her back in a wild multiversal team-up where she fought alongside Blade (Wesley Snipes), Elektra (Jennifer Garner), Gambit (Channing Tatum), and even a resurrected Johnny Storm (Chris Evans).
She made another brief appearance at the end of the movie, reunited with Logan and Wade, which seemed to hint at more to come.
So where does that leave her in the lead-up to Avengers: Doomsday? The movie has been deep into production for a while, and while we’ve heard plenty of rumors about X-23 showing up (alongside just about every other MCU character ever), Keen’s name wasn’t included in the first official wave of casting announcements.
That said, it’s hard to imagine Marvel leaving her out completely after bringing her back for Deadpool & Wolverine. We’ve also heard that Deadpool might be leading his own team in the movie, and it would make sense for her to be a part of it.
Her vague answer and the fact that she didn't shut it down completely might be a strategic move. After all, Marvel loves its secrets, and Keen could just be playing the studio game, waiting for the greenlight to spill the beans.
Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters on December 18, 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on December 17, 2027. Until then, we’ll be watching and waiting to see if Keen’s X-23 gets another shot to slice her way into the MCU’s biggest showdown yet.
