Daniel Craig Drops Out of DC's SGT. ROCK Project From Director Luca Guadagnino

Daniel Craig has dropped out of director Luca Guadagnino’s DC Studios film Sgt. Rock. There’s no reasoning given as to why Craig exited the project.r.

Sgt. Rock was being set up as Guadagnino’s next film project with a the script for the film written by Challengers and Queer scribe Justin Kuritzkes.

Craig was supposed to take on the title role of the film, Sgt. Franklin "Frank" Rock, who was created by Robert Kanigher and Joe Kubert and he’s primarily known for his leadership role in the World War II-themed comic series Our Army at War, which was later retitled Sgt. Rock.

The character first appeared in 1959 and is a tough, no-nonsense infantry soldier who leads Easy Company, a group of battle-hardened soldiers in the European Theater of World War II.

Rock is characterized by his unwavering sense of duty, badass combat skills, and strong loyalty to his men, often serving as both a father figure and a protector.

His stories are gritty and grounded, focusing on the brutal realities of war, the camaraderie among soldiers, and the personal cost of battle, making him one of DC’s iconic military heroes.

I actually liked the idea of Craig playing this character, but it will be interesting to see what actor comes in to replace him. Do any of you have any suggestions?
