DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN Star Wilson Bethel Teases Bullseye’s Upgraded Season 3 Costume in Set Video
Marvel fans may finally be getting the comic-accurate Bullseye suit they’ve been waiting for in Daredevil: Born Again, and actor Wilson Bethel just dropped a small but cool tease from the set of Season 3.
The new season is currently filming in New York, and Bethel shared a quick Instagram video that gives fans a glimpse at Dex’s upgraded look. It’s not a full reveal, but there’s enough there to spark some excitement.
The clip shows off part of Bullseye’s armored glove and wrist, along with a bullseye emblem planted directly on the hand. It already looks like a major step closer to the version fans know from Marvel Comics.
Bullseye’s live-action costumes have evolved quite a bit since Bethel first appeared in Netflix’s Daredevil Season 3. Back then, Benjamin Poindexter was operating under Wilson Fisk’s manipulation while impersonating the Man Without Fear.
When the character returned for Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 after the show’s creative overhaul, Marvel introduced a redesigned suit that nodded to Bullseye’s comic roots, but a lot of fans felt it still didn’t fully land.
Season 2 pushed things a little further by adding the iconic bullseye logo, though it still stopped short of embracing the full comic-book aesthetic. Based on this latest tease, Season 3 may finally deliver the real deal.
What’s especially interesting is that the armor design shown in Bethel’s video has a similar style to the gear seen on the New Avengers in the Thunderbolts* post-credits scene. That connection could make a lot of sense considering where Dex’s story appears to be heading.
According to previous comments from Bethel, Bullseye is now operating under government control, potentially carrying out missions overseas alongside Mr. Charles for Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.
While promoting Season 2, Bethel addressed the possibility of a comic-accurate costume and sounded pretty excited about what’s coming:
"Yeah, I'm a big advocate for [a comic-accurate costume]. And I will tell you this without giving anything away. There's a new there's a new suit in the works. I won't say anything beyond that, but there's definitely a new costume next season."
As for where Dex fits into the larger story this season, Bethel admitted he still doesn’t fully know where things are headed yet:
"To be fully honest with you, I still don't 100% know where it goes. Dario [Scardapane] basically told me that Dex is now working for the government. He's now a G-man. That's what he pitched me, but I've only read the first two scripts of season three. I'm only in them a little bit so far."
Bullseye finally getting a fully realized comic-style costume feels long overdue, and I’m looking forward to the full reveal!
