David Harbour Teases a "Vital" and "Super Cool" Thing Will Be Introduced in Marvel's THUNDERBOLTS
David Harbour continues to build the hype for Marvel’s Thunderbolts! He recently said that the movie is going to drop a bomb on the MCU, and now he’s teasing that a “vital” and “super cool” thing is going to be introduced in the movie.
The movie is still two years away from being released, but it’s never to early to start hyping it and getting the fans talking about what this thing could be! Harbour, who will return as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian from Black Widow, was speaking to Collider, when he dropped this comment:
“We introduce a thing that’s super cool. It’s vital. I’m psyched that Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ character is going to be, in a bigger way, explored. One of the things you’ll probably know is that the me and Florence dynamic will be in there and explored in a way that’s really cool. But all these guys, Sebastian’s character, Wyatt’s character, I just love this mercenary element in the MCU. MCU has always been sort of elevated in a certain way. Captain America, even Iron Man, although he has egos, are always in it for the right reasons or ultimately does the right thing. And I like these guys who are a bunch of losers or a bunch of guys who can’t quite get it right.”
It was announced earlier this past summer that the Thunderbolts team consists of Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier, Julie Louis-Dreyfus as Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Wyatt Russell as US Agent, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, and of course, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova. Harrison Ford is also taking on the role of General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross!
There will most likely be a few other familiar faces that show up in the movie. Harbour is definitely not holding back on teasing some exciting reveals that could have a big impact on the MCU and how the Multiverse Saga will play out.
When previously talking about Harbour his character Red Guardian, the actor shared: "I really like him, and I love Florence [Pugh] as Yelena [also in Thunderbolts]. And then you throw in Wyatt [Russell, as U.S. Agent] from Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Sebastian [Stan, reprising Bucky Barnes]. You have all these great, colorful characters. I’m really excited for that movie."
He also said of his character and playing him, “I love Red Guardian. I can’t wait to pull back the layers. The great thing about him is that he’s not very well-defined in the comics, like some of the other Marvel superheroes. So we can play with him in a different way, and be surprising and unexpected."
The film is being directed by Jake Schreier (Paper Towns, Kidding), from a script by Eric Pearson (Thor: Ragnarok, Black Widow) and Kurt Busiek. Thunderbolts is set to premiere on July 26th, 2023.
