David Leitch Will Not Direct JURASSIC WORLD Reboot Over Creative Differences

John Wick director David Leitch was in talks to direct Jurassic World for Universe Pictures, and it was a directing choice that a lot of fans were excited about. Well, it turns out that Leitch will not direct the film and that he parted ways with the studio over creative differences. They both had a different vision for what the film should be. It’s a shame because I bet Leitch would’ve done something different, unique, and badass. I have a feeling that the studio is just going to want to do more of the same.

Steven Spielberg is a producer on the film and original Jurassic Park scribe David Koepp is writing the script for the movie, which will be a “complete reboot.”

The new Jurassic World movie will be “a completely fresh take” on the franchise, and stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are not expected to return. Alos, don’t expect to see Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern, or Sam Neill to show up either.

It’s explained that Universal still sees this as a franchise “that hasn’t lost its luster with fans as the most recent pic, Jurassic World: Dominion, bringing in a billion dollars at the global box-office and have been anxious to dive back into the universe with a fresh take.”

It’s a shame that things didn’t work out with Leitch. I wonder who the studio’s second choice is. Jurassic World is set to hit theaters on July 2, 2025.
