DC Studios Casts Garret Dillahunt as a Villain in LANTERNS

Garret Dillahunt (Fear The Walking Dead) has landed the role of a villain in DC Studios and HBO’s Lanterns series. He joins leads Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre and series regular Kelly MacDonald.

Dillahunt will play William Macon, a character who is described as a “modern cowboy, a self-righteous, conspiracy-minded man who masks his ruthless ambition behind a charming and calculated facade.”

The series will focus on new recruit John Stewart (Pierre) and Lantern legend Hal Jordan (Chandler), “two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, Earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland.”

Macdonald plays Sheriff Kerry, “a no-nonsense woman deeply devoted to her family and close-knit town. Her resilience, shaped by a complex past that’s hardened her resolve, anchors her when the community’s secrets begin to surface.”

The project is being developed by Ozark’s Chris Mundy, Watchmen‘s Damon Lindelof, and comic book writer Tom King.

When talking about the eight-episode series DC Studios co-Chairmen and co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran, said: “John Stewart and Hal Jordan are two of DC’s most compelling characters, and Lanterns brings them to life in an original detective story that is a foundational part of the unified DCU we’re launching next summer with Superman.”
