DEADPOOL 3 Star Says Ryan Reynolds Is Doing a Lot of Cool Stuff and It Will Be Hard R

Director Shawn Levy is currently in the middle of directing Deadpool 3 for Marvel Studios, and Karan Soni, who plays Dopinder in the film, recently talked about his experience working on it. He praised Ryan Reynolds saying he’s doing a lot of cool stuff with the movie, and he also says that the movie is going to be hard R.

While everyone who has worked on the film says that Disney is not going to water things down in the movie and that they’ve been super supportive of the creavtive teams vision, some fans still think that Disney isn’t going to alow the bloody and vulgar insanity to fly. Well, here’s what Soni told CB:

"I have begun working on that one, so I can say that it is the same as the other two. It's like hard R. There's a lot of that stuff. So it does not feel different. The only thing that, for me, is different is that I have not gotten the script this time. The other two, we did get it, it's a big difference, at least for me, the MCU part of it vs. the Fox/Marvel part of it. They're so strict. So I've only seen glimpses of what I'm in."

He went on to praise Reynolds’ vision saying:

"When I did some of the stuff, I saw some things that I didn't know were in the thing. I think, I would just say it this way: Ryan [Reynolds] doesn't need to do any of these movies unless he gets to do his version of it and he is such a star, and, I don't need to say this, a creative genius. He's taking this opportunity and really pushing everything and, definitely, he's doing a lot of cool stuff. I feel very optimistic about it. Him and [director] Shawn [Levy], they work so well together, that I think it will be really exciting for people to see how they take their collaborations that they've done, now successfully twice, in this new version and play in this massive sandbox with a lot of stuff. It is very, very exciting. I will not underestimate Ryan Reynolds."

Sounds good to me! Shawn Levy previously teased how violent and foul it will be, saying: "We are writing, rewriting, developing, prepping 'Deadpool' every day now. It is such a blast to laugh every day. It is so delicious to hear and write and come up with these scenes where people are just talking foul. And the violence is in your face and hardcore, and it's very much a 'Deadpool' movie."

Kevin Feige also confirmed the R-Rating: "It's amazing. And we've got Hugh Jackman coming back for our first Deadpool film within the MCU. That's our first R-rated film”

There are unconfirmed reports regarding the cast for Deadpool 3, which is said to include several X-Men characters such as Halle Berry as Storm, Famke Janssen as Jean Grey, and James Marsden returning to play Cyclops! There are also reports that Ben Affleck will be showing up in the movie as Daredevil and Channing Tatum appearing as Gambit. These are all just rumors right now.

Deadpool’s creator has a little insight on the movie and he previously shared: “The stuff I know, it will melt your face, alright? That’s all I’m going to say, it’ll melt your face. I’ve been very fortunate people put stuff in front of me. And trust me, all I’m saying is, I saw that cast list. I think people are just going to freakin’ get blown away, and I’m not saying shit more than what I just said.”

It was also previously reported that Deadpool 3 will feature more than two variants of Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool, and, “We’re also going to get at LEAST one other Wolverine in [Deadpool 3].”

The movie also stars Emma Corrin as the villain, Morena Baccarin and Stefan Kapicic as Vanessa and Colossus, Matthew Macfadyen in an unknown role, and Leslie Uggams as Blind Al. They are joined by Brianna Hildebrand and Shioli Kutsuna will also return to the franchise as Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Negasonic Teenage Warhead’s girlfriend Yukio.

Deadpool 3 is currently slated to open in theaters on May 3, 2024.
