Denzel Washington Reveals Two More EQUALIZER Movies Are in Development
It looks like Denzel Washington isn’t done with The Equalizer action thriller franchise! Despite Washington’s Robert McCall seemingly retiring at the end of The Equalizer 3, the actor says that there will be two more movies in the franchise.
During an interview with Esquire, Washington shared: "I told them I would do another Equalizer, and we’re doing four and five.
Washington added: "People love those daggone Equalizers. But I’ve come to realize that the Equalizer films are for me, too, because they’re for the people.
“They want me to go get the bad guys. 'We can’t get them, so you go get them.' And I say, Okay, I’ll get them! Just wait right there. I’ll be right back!"
He didn’t offer any details on the films, and the studio has yet to confirm that they’re in development officially, but obviously Washington knows what he’s talking about, and it’s great to see him excited about jumping back into the world of The Equalizer franchise.
The Equalizer films are inspired by the 1980s TV series of the same name, and they follow Robert McCall, a former government operative turned vigilante. Haunted by a violent past and driven by a moral code, McCall uses his unique set of skills to deliver justice for the oppressed, often taking on dangerous criminals and corrupt organizations.
Known for its great and intense action sequences and story of redemption, the franchise showcases McCall's precise and brutal methods as he seeks to protect the vulnerable while confronting his own inner demons.
