Episodes of Marvel's SHE-HULK Disney+ Series to Be Helmed by Kat Coiro
It looks like Marvel has found a director who will be developing the She-Hulk series for Disney+. That director is Kat Coiro, who will helm the pilot along with several other episodes. She will also serve as an executive producer. Rick and Morty writer Jessica Gao leads the writer’s room for the series.
Coiro has worked on several well-known shows in her career including Netflix’s Dead To Me, Showtime’s Shameless, and FX’s It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia. She also directed Life Happens and the upcoming film Marry Me starring Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson.
The series will focus on Jennifer Walters, a.k.a. She-Hulk, an attorney and cousin of Bruce Banner. It’s through an emergency blood transfusion from her cousin that Walters gains her powers, but She-Hulk is able to keep her intelligence and personality when she Hulks out.
The logline for the show described Walters as being “successful in her profession and specifically seeking cases in superheroic law. Furthermore, the description goes on to state that she occasionally throws down in superhero battles as the She-Hulk.” Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner is also reportedly going to be a part of the series.
It was also previously reported that Marvel was looking to cast an actress in her late 20s or early 30s to play Walter, and they want to get someone who has worked in comedic roles before. Allison Brie has been rumored to be up for the role.
