Evan Peters Is Reportedly in Marvel's WANDAVISION and Plays a Key Role
Some interesting casting news has surfaced for Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ series WandaVision. According to Murphy's Multiverse, Evan Peters (X-Men: Apocalypse and American Horror Story) is in the series, and he is said to be playing a "key role" in the series. Apparently, the actor was cast in the show late last year and he shot his scenes shortly after.
There’s no information on who he is playing, but some fans are speculating that he could be playing Quicksilver. I don’t buy into these rumors, but the report says there have been rumors that WandaVision will somehow feature Wanda’s deceased brother, who was previously played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson. But, Johnson has said that “there will be no appearance of me coming out or Quicksilver appearing anytime soon.” So if Taylor-Johnson doesn’t come back as Quicksilver, Marvel would have to recast, which they’ve done a few times in the past. Peters would certainly be an interesting choice.
The report also says that “given the nature of the series, Peters could be playing anyone from Nicholas Scratch to Mephisto.” So, we’ll have to wait and see who he’ll be playing, but I seriously doubt it will be Quicksilver. I think he’ll be taking on a totally different role.
Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany reprised their roles in the series, which has been described as “a mash-up between American sitcoms throughout the decades and Marvel films with these characters.” It’s also been explained that the story “snowballs into an epic Marvel movie that you’ve grown to know or love.”
The series is also said to start Wanda Maximoff down the path of actually becoming Scarlet Witch, and the story it tells will have repercussions for the entire future of the MCU in Phase 4. Many fans believe that involves how the film will tie into Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness, and will crack open the multiverse.
Who would you like to see Evans play in WandaVision?
