Finn Jones Teases Long-Awaited Heroes for Hire Team-Up in DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN Season 3

Marvel fans have been waiting years to see Iron Fist and Luke Cage officially join forces as Heroes for Hire, and it looks like Finn Jones and Mike Colter might finally get their chance in Daredevil: Born Again Season 3.

With the third and final season bringing several familiar Marvel heroes back together, Jones is teasing that Danny Rand and Luke Cage could take their partnership to the next level. For fans of the Netflix Marvel shows, this is a reunion that's been a long time coming.

During an exclusive interview with GamesRadar+ at New York Comic-Con, Jones opened up about returning to the MCU alongside his former The Defenders co-stars, including Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones and Colter as Luke Cage.

The actor explained that stepping back into this group of characters feels surprisingly natural, even after nearly a decade apart.

"It's weird. I've never been a part of a cast where the chemistry is just so innate, not only with the actors but also the way the characters interact with each other. It's special. The Defenders are special.”

That chemistry was one of the more entertaining aspects of Marvel's Netflix era, particularly when Danny Rand and Luke Cage shared the screen. Their contrasting personalities made them a fun pairing, and Marvel Comics has decades of great stories built around their friendship.

Jones went on to suggest that fans hoping to see the two heroes launch their famous business might actually get a taste of it in the upcoming season.

"The more they can flesh that out, the more the fans are gonna be happy because the fans really want it. Especially between me and Mike and Heroes for Hire. Something like that, I know people are desperate for. We'll get a glimpse of that maybe in season 3 of Daredevil."

That's a pretty exciting tease, especially considering how long fans have wanted Marvel Studios to bring Heroes for Hire into the MCU.

Heroes for Hire was established in 1978, with Luke Cage and Danny Rand combining their unique skills to offer protection and investigative services to paying clients. Basically, they're superheroes who run a business, taking on everything from street-level criminals to some seriously dangerous Marvel villains.

Their client list has included Tony Stark and Doctor Doom, although Doom famously learned that stiffing Luke Cage on a $200 payment was a terrible idea. Luke tracked him down and gave him a beating over the unpaid debt.

Over the years, the Heroes for Hire roster has also included several other Marvel characters, including Ant-Man, Ghost Rider, and Spider-Man. It's easy to see how this concept could work in the MCU, especially with the street-level Marvel heroes making their return.

With Matt Murdock behind bars, New York City could certainly use some extra muscle, and Luke and Danny are perfectly suited to handle whatever criminal activity comes their way. Throw Jessica Jones into the mix, and you've got a pretty entertaining group of characters who don't always agree on how to get things done.

Of course, there's also Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk to consider. Depending on where the story goes, Heroes for Hire could find themselves investigating Fisk's operations or getting directly involved in the fight against his criminal empire.

Jones didn't reveal how significant the Heroes for Hire storyline might be, so it's possible we'll only see the beginnings of Luke and Danny's business partnership rather than a full-fledged team operating under that name.

But, seeing these characters together again is a big deal, and the possibility of Marvel finally exploring one of its most popular street-level partnerships makes Season 3 even more interesting.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 is expected to arrive on Disney+ in 2027.
