First Official Look at DC’s SUPERGIRL Suit Reveals a Familiar Kryptonian Style

CCXP São Paulo kicks off tomorrow, but fans are already getting something cool to chew on. The convention floor is buzzing with a first official look at the Milly Alcock Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow suit, and it carries the same design language we glimpsed in Superman.

Omelete.com shared the reveal from the event, and the costume display also slips in a fun detail for anyone eager to see Lobo crash into the DCU. Artwork of the Main Man’s unmistakable axe sits nearby, along with another look at the film’s title logo.

Even though he couldn’t attend in person, James Gunn sent in a pre recorded video message for the crowd. He confirmed that a “sneak peek” will screen during the event, though it’s unclear if the footage will make its way online.

Gunn also teased a few story nuggets, but readers of Tom King’s Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow graphic novel will recognize the foundations immediately.

The film also stars Eve Ridley (3 Body Problem) as Ruthye Mary Knolle and Matthias Schoenaerts (The Old Guard) as Krem of the Yellow Hills. Jason Momoa will make his debut as Lobo.

Recent additions David Krumholtz and Emily Beecham step in as Kara’s parents, Zor El and Alura. Warner Bros. has locked in June 26, 2026 for the release, officially marking the arrival of a new Girl of Steel in the DCU.

This version of Kara Zor El is described as a more edgy interpretation, one that breaks away from previous screen portrayals including the long running series led by Melissa Benoist.

The approach leans directly into the grit of King’s story. According to the early synopsis, Kara “travels across the galaxy to celebrate her 21st birthday with Krypto the Superdog. Along the way, she meets a young woman named Ruthye and winds up on a murderous quest for revenge.”

When Gunn and Peter Safran rolled out the Gods and Monsters slate last year, Gunn explained what sets this Kara apart from her cousin, saying, “In our series we see the difference between Superman who was sent to Earth and raised by loving parents from the time he was an infant, versus Supergirl who was raised on a rock, a chip off Krypton, and watched everyone around her die and be killed in terrible ways for the first 14 years of her life, and then came to Earth when she was a young girl. She’s much more hardcore, she’s not exactly the Supergirl we’re used to seeing.”

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is set to be released in 2026.
