Super Fun Trailer For Lucasfilm's STAR WARS: SKELETON CREW Series!
Lucasfilm debuted the first trailer for the upcoming Disney+ series Star Wars: Skeleton Crew at the D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, where Jude Law came out on stage to introduce the trailer and talk about the series.
This series looks unlike any Star Wars project we’ve seen before. The series has been described as ”a galactic version of classic Amblin coming-of-age adventure films of the ’80s.” You can definitely see that influence in the trailer!
The series definitely had that Amblin vibe and as someone who grew up on those kinds of movies, I kinda like it. This is going to be a really interesting series! I hope it’s good! I’m rooting for it!
Whether it turns out to be good or not, one thing is for sure, if this series came out when I was a kid… I’d freakin’ love it! It looks like fun!
Skeleton Crew follows the journey of four kids “who make a mysterious discovery on their seemingly safe home planet, then get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy, crossing paths with the likes of Jod Na Nawood, the mysterious character played by Law.
“Finding their way home—and meeting unlikely allies and enemies—will be a greater adventure than they ever imagined.”
The series was initially pitched to Lucasfilm as “Goonies in Star Wars," and it’s been explained that while the series stars four kids, “it's not a kid’s show."
The series was created by Jon Watts (Spider-Man) and it also stars Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Kyriana Kratter, Robert Timothy Smith, and Ryan Kiera Armstrong. Nick Frost also stars in the series as a droid.
The episodes in the show will be directed by Bryce Dallas Howard, The Daniels, David Lowery, Jake Schreier, and Lee Isaac Chung. The Mandalorian's Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni will executive produce.
The film will stream on Disney+ on December 3, 2024, with the first two episodes. Check out the new trailer below.
