For Some Reason THE FLASH Director Revealed a Major Spoiler Cameo Appearance
So, I guess directors are now spoiling their own movies!? The Flash director Andy Muschietti recently revealed a major spoiler regarding a cameo in his upcoming DC movie. It’s actually one of the best and most surprising cameos in the film! So, I don’t quite understand why he would spoil that for everyone!
If you don’t want to know, I suggest you don’t read ahead. Seriously, you really don’t want this cameo spoiled for you. But if you must know what Muschietti said, here you go.
As you know, the story for The Flash breaks open the multiverse in the DC Cinematic Universe and that means anything is possible. We already know that there are multiple versions of Batman with Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck, but we now know that there will be a surprise version of Superman!
During a recent interview with William Mullally of Esquire Middle East, the filmmaker revealed Nicolas Cage will play Superman in The Flash! He said:
"Nic was absolutely wonderful. Although the role was a cameo, he dove into it. I dreamt all my life to work with him. I hope I can work with him again soon. He is a massive Superman fan. A comic book fanatic."
I’ve already seen the film, I’ve seen Nic Cage in action as Superman, and it’s one of the coolest parts of the film! As you know, Cage was supposed to play Superman in Tim Burton’s Superman Lives over 25 years ago. Well, now after all these years, fans will actually get to see Cage as the Man of Steel, and it’s awesome! I won’t spoil any details for you of how his scenes play out, but you’re gonna love it!
Remember when the first photo of Cage dressed up as Superman surfaced? The fan community exploded with all kinds of emotions. That was followed by more photos and even test footage. There was even a documentary made about the unmade film called The Death of Superman Lives: What Happened?!
When previously talking about the film, Cage explained why Superman Lives is more powerful than any of the other Superman films: "I would offer that the movie that Tim and I would have made, in your imagination, is more powerful than any of the Superman movies. I didn’t even have to make the movie and we all know what that movie would have been in your imagination. That is the Superman. That is the movie. Even though you never saw it—it is the Superman."
The Flash races into theaters on June 16th. Are you excited about seeing Cage as Superman!?
