Full Trailer For Bill Hader's BARRY Season 4 - "You're Irredeemable"
HBO has dropped the full trailer for the fourth and final season of the dark hitman comedy series Barry. As you’ll see, Barry’s actions have finally caught up with him and landed him in prison, which is where the next chapter of his journey picks up. He still wants to change, he wants to be a good person, but he is told that he’s irredeemable.
While he’s in prison, everyone else is dealing with their own issues, and he isn’t around to be a part of that or help them in any way. He is just working through his own issues, and it’s going to be rough for him.
Bill Hader said in a statement: “It’s been an amazing journey making this show, and it’s bittersweet that the story has come to its natural conclusion.” When talking about why he felt it was the right time for the show to came to an end, he said:
"It was very much in the writing and the storytelling. I mean, a lot of people after last season were like, 'Why are you doing another season? It should have just ended. But to me, there are still so many questions with the other characters, and with Barry -- and there's so many things unsaid. What happens in Season 4 is structurally radical in some ways, but it made sense for what I think the characters needed to go through, and what I think the whole show is always kind of headed towards.
"So [Seasons] 3 and 4 to us felt like one big season -- those 16 episodes were all kind of conceived together. And then, like I said, there's something that happens in 4 that is kind of strange, though thematically it makes a lot of sense. It's fun. It was a lot of fun, but it was also incredibly bittersweet. The last two episodes, while we were shooting, were not fun. It was very sad."
The series follows Barry, a low-level hitman who’s disillusioned at the thought of taking down another "mark.” Depressed, he is looking for a way out. “When the Midwesterner reluctantly travels to Los Angeles to execute a hit on an actor who is bedding a mobster's wife, little does Barry know that the City of Angels may be his sanctuary. He follows his target into acting class and ends up instantly drawn to the community of eager hopefuls, especially dedicated student Sally, who becomes the object of his affection. While Barry wants to start a new life as an actor, his handler, Fuches, has other ideas, and the hit man's criminal past won't let him walk away so easily.”
Season 4 is set to premiere on April 16th.
